The arrival of Microsoft Dynamics 365 truly is, above all, an opportunity for businesses to change the way that work is done. To streamline all Microsoft business applications in one place, Microsoft rebranded Dynamics CRM Online to Dynamics 365, and added some new features while they were at it.
The solution is built on four main principles: Purpose-built, Productive, Intelligent and Adaptable. One of the key changes is that we’re going from a conventional solution to an “App Based Platform”. The platform offers Apps for specific roles and purposes, such a Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Project Services Automation, Field Services, Operations and Finances.
The core value for customers is – “Allowing you to start with the App or Apps that you need today, and then, add more Apps to the platform as your business and industry evolves”.
Also, these Apps are built to leverage the existing Microsoft tools you know and have come to love, such as Microsoft Office, for example. Furthermore, when adding a touch of Power BI and Cortana intelligence – Voilà! You now have a platform that makes business recommendations based on the data you and other sources supply it.
The platform will also eliminate the long time running “elephant in the room” – Integration. Since all the Apps are built on a common data model, you will be able to initiate cross-application workflows with Flow.
Finally, Microsoft is now a true one stop shop, the platform is integrated to your Office 365 portal, so you have one centralised self-service portal where you can manage your apps, users, licenses, security and so forth.
